Sometimes anxious and depressive thoughts get the best of us, and life is hard to live. Sometimes we get caught up in the struggle, and pain turns into suffering. Sometimes things lose their meaning, and we forget what we care about. If this sounds familiar, it’s about time to “get out of your mind, and into your life”. In this group, participants will learn to acknowledge pain and struggle, make space for difficult thoughts and feelings, and live a values-based life. Using the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT- pronounced like the word), those who participate will acquire tools to help them engage in behaviors that are in line with who they are and who they want to be, while also accepting all emotions, thoughts, and feelings that come along with living a rich and fulfilling life.
This will be an in-person therapy group. Participants must be between the ages of 15 and 18. Limited to 8 participants total.
