SPACE: Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions – Virtual Parent Class

Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) is a parents-only, evidence-based treatment of childhood anxiety with an emphasis on promoting child confidence and coping with anxiety through making systematic and sustainable changes in parental actions and child-parent interaction patterns. You will learn how to best manage child discomfort, increase giving of effective supports to your child, and choose alternative methods for responding to anxious distress to decrease family stress levels. Click here to read an article in The Atlantic that reports on research about SPACE.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to clinicians’ licensure restrictions, this virtual class is only available to permanent residents of the state of Oregon.

We offer two separate sections of SPACE, for elementary and middle school age groups. . Each consists of 7 virtual parent sessions.

SPACE Elementary Age (for parents of children in grades K -5)

For parents of children in grades K – 5. Limited to 8 families. 
with Nichole Sage, Psy.D., Michael Schwartz, Ph.D. (Licensed Psychologists), and Hailey Albin, MA (Psychology Intern)
Time: Mondays from 4:00pm – 5:30pm (90 mins – via Zoom) 
Dates:  September 23 – October 28, 2024; booster session on November 11.

Cost – $575.00 (not insurance billable) 
– Limited scholarship funds available

SPACE Middle School Age (for parents of children in grades 6 – 8)

For parents of children in grades 6 – 8. Limited to 8 families. 
with Hannah Bianco, Ph.D. (Licensed Psychologist), Mariko Clark, MA (Licensed Professional Counselor), and Allan Cordova, Ph.D. (Licensed Psychologist)
Time: Wednesdays from 10:30am – 12:00pm (90 mins – via Zoom)
Dates: October 16 – November 20, 2024; booster session on December 4.
