Eliza Harkness, MA
Eliza Harkness, MA is a pre-doctoral psychology intern in clinical psychology specializing in child assessment and child and family therapy. She holds master’s degrees in Counseling – Art Therapy from Adler University and Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School, where she is completing her PsyD. Her training has focused on working with children and their caregivers across outpatient, community-based, and child welfare settings, with extensive experience supporting families involved in the child welfare system. Eliza has received specialized training in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) and has experience using evidence-based approaches including CBT, ACT, ERP, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, and parent management training. Her clinical experience includes working with children and families experiencing trauma, anxiety, OCD, behavioral concerns, and disruptions in early relationships. Eliza approaches her work from a strengths-based and trauma-informed perspective and is particularly passionate about the relationship between children and their caregivers. She views caregivers and the broader family system as important sources of support in children’s development and emotional well-being. Eliza enjoys working closely with caregivers to build upon their strengths and foster meaningful connections with their children. She values collaboration throughout the therapeutic process and supporting children and caregivers in growing together.
