Makenna Armijo, M.A. is a pre-doctoral psychology intern in clinical psychology specializing in working with children and adolescents. She holds a master’s degree in Applied Clinical Psychology and is completing her PsyD at Pacific University. Makenna has worked in a variety of settings, including the Portland Anxiety Clinic, Pacific Psychology and Comprehensive Health Clinic, and LifeWorks NW. Through her training, she has provided individual therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults from diverse backgrounds, as well as parent training and psychological evaluations. Makenna integrates a variety of evidence-based interventions in her practice and has extensive experience in CBT, ERP, and skills-based training. She has a particular focus in treating OCD and anxiety-spectrum disorders, including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, separation anxiety, and specific phobias, while also having experience with ADHD, mood disorders, and various behavioral challenges. Makenna is passionate about building meaningful therapeutic relationships with her patients and using creative interventions to enhance engagement and strengthen therapeutic connections. She values using a collaborative approach to treatment and emphasizes the importance of working together with children and their families to navigate complex challenges, strengthen family dynamics, and foster emotional growth.
