for Children (8-11 years) who have Siblings with Support Needs
This support group is aimed for children ages 8-11 who are siblings of children with support needs such as special needs (e.g., developmental disabilities) or mental health concerns (e.g., anxiety, ADHD, etc.). The aim of this group is to provide brothers and sisters the opportunity to connect with other siblings who have similar family dynamics, discuss common joys and challenges with other siblings, explore and learn about the implications of their siblings with support needs, and have a space to talk about and listen to experiences frequently had by siblings of children with support needs.
This group is best suited for children who are appropriately comfortable in social/ group settings, willing to engage, and thoughtful. This group is also best for children who do not have their own significant support or mental health needs.
