Hiba Jbarah
Psychologist Resident, PsyD
Hiba is a psychologist resident who earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology with a child and adolescent emphasis from Pacific University. She completed her internship at Children’s Program, specializing in treating children and adolescents with anxiety disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), selective mutism (SM), and specific phobias. She supported youth with trauma histories, often in adoption and foster care contexts. She also co-facilitated groups such as Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE). Her training included work at Pacific Psychology & Comprehensive Health Clinic, providing therapy and psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults with diverse emotional and behavioral challenges, and at OHSU’s Child Development and Rehabilitation Center, delivering evidence-based treatments such as ERP, CBT, and TF-CBT for anxiety, trauma, somatic symptoms, and complex medical conditions. At Children’s Program, she conducted comprehensive evaluations, including academic, cognitive, and ODHS assessments, to help families access appropriate services.
Hiba’s therapeutic approach integrates CBT and parent training within a relational, attachment-based framework. She collaborates closely with children, adolescents, and families, emphasizing strong therapeutic alliances and evidence-based practices that foster resilience, emotional growth, and behavioral change. Her work is guided by respect for cultural diversity, family systems, and the broader contexts shaping children’s lives.
Outside of her professional role, Hiba enjoys the beauty of Pacific Northwest, whether hiking lush trails or exploring Portland’s vibrant green spaces with her family and friends. She also loves traveling, learning new languages, discovering different cultures, cooking, listening to music, and bringing people together through food and hospitality.
