Presentations & Seminars
Our clinicians can come to your school, parent organization, library, or community center to talk about a wide variety of children’s mental health topics.
Possible seminar topics include:
Navigating Childhood Anxiety and Mood Concern
- All children experience levels of anxiety and moodiness, and it can be very hard to tell what is “normal”. In this presentation, you will get an overview of the science underlying anxiety and mood concerns, and the various manifestations of these conditions in children. We will then provide you with evidence-based strategies and tools to support your child and family in navigating these concerns.
Trauma and Grief in Kids and Teens
- Trauma and grief can deeply affect young people’s emotions, behavior, and development. Supportive adults help by offering safety, consistency, and empathy. This presentation teaches parents to recognize signs, respond appropriately, build trust, and use practical strategies to foster resilience and long-term well-being.
Normalizing Neurodiversity – Helping to See a Child’s Alternative Perspectives
- Neurodiverse brains are everywhere and no two neurodiverse brains are ever completely identical. This presentation hopes to provide information on the commonality of encountering a neurodiverse child, understanding what neurodiversity may look like, and helping to provide information and instruction to better help a neurodiverse child access and understand what is being asked.
How Screen Time Affects Teen and Child Brain Development
- Designed to educate and empower parents, the presentation explores the potential effects of electronic use on the developing brain, including sleep, academic performance, social development, and physical health. Current research, relevant statistics, and practical, actionable recommendations to help families manage technology in an ever-evolving digital world.
